MoTeC_

An international success story

With its distinctive gold ECUs and a philosophy of engineering excellence, MoTeC has grown from a modest home workshop producing a screwdriver-adjusted ECU in the late 1980s to a world leader in twenty-first century motorsport technology. Now boasting a network of over two hundred authorised dealers worldwide, and with main offices in Europe and the USA, this innovative Australian brand has become synonymous with motor racing success in almost every category across the globe.

Initially adopted by sport sedans and road-registered vehicles, the demand for MoTeC technology spread quickly. Today it is difficult to find an avenue of motorsport untouched by the brand, with customers in such series as Le Mans, ALMS, NASCAR, FIA GT, Australian V8 Supercars, Indy Car, Dakar Rally, World Superbikes, Professional Drag Racing including Top Fuel and Sport Compact, Porsche Carrera Cup, Star Mazda USA, TC2000 Argentina, World Rally, Group N Rally, GP Masters, Formula 4000, Formula Ford, Toyota Racing Series New Zealand, Formula Campus China, V8 Jetboats, F1/Offshore Powerboats and all manner of club competition. MoTeC systems have also been put to use in military vehicles and commercial automotive test facilities.

Forward thinking

Always a leader in technology, MoTeC was the first to introduce data logging and live telemetry to Australian motorsport in the early 1990s via its early generation ECUs, and soon after developed one of the world’s first temperature-compensated Lambda meters for measuring air/fuel ratios.

The end of the decade saw the release of the MoTeC Advanced Dash Logger (ADL), a sophisticated display and logging unit with comprehensive data analysis capabilities for tech-savvy racers. Now in its second iteration with almost limitless data acquisition intelligence, the ADL2 is used in many forms of motorsport and testing worldwide, from Le Mans to the Dakar Rally, Top Fuel drags, race boats and everything in between. It is also a factory fitment to the current Porsche 997 GT3 Carrera Cup race cars.

With the turn of the millennium came a new benchmark in aftermarket engine control—the MoTeC M800 engine management system. Internationally acclaimed for its advanced technology, the M800 and subsequent 'hundred series' ECUs remain among the first systems in the world to provide aftermarket control of continuously variable camshaft timing and drive by wire throttle.

2006 saw the release of MoTeC's much anticipated i2 Data Analysis software. Numerous years in the making, this groundbreaking analysis tool has made a significant impact on the way teams work with data, leading the world with a new level of customisation and flexibility.

MoTeC will continue to innovate into the future, embracing new technologies to give customers the next level of performance.

Global presence

MoTeC’s purpose-built Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia, was completed in 2002, bringing all of the company’s divisions under one roof to form a central hub for new product development. In addition to Engineering, Technical Support, Administration and Dispatch, the Research Centre contains tailored seminar facilities for MoTeC’s training and education program which is offered to dealers, customers and the public.

MoTeC Europe, based in Banbury, UK, was established in 1995 to provide technical support, sales advice and after sales service to local and surrounding regions. The MoTeC Europe office oversees authorised dealers in more than twenty countries and facilitates the development process in Australia with feedback from local customers.

Separately owned and operated, MoTeC Systems USA represents the MoTeC brand throughout North America with two offices, East in North Carolina and West in California. MoTeC Systems USA distributes to nearly 90 dealers across the country, and provides direct sales and technical services to customers of its own.
